After completing a traineeship in a polymechanics, Johannes trained as a mechanical engineer at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. He graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. As part of a community service assignment for Caritas, he spent four months in Tajikistan, where he was involved in a project that made locally produced, energy-efficient cooking and heating stoves available to the population. Johannes then worked as a development engineer and designer for a pump manufacturer and as a process engineer for a company specialising in energy recovery from waste. Since February 2024, he has been working in product development at iart, specialising in hardware development and mechanics.
