The foundation stone for the new garden hall wing of the Kongresshaus and Tonhalle Zurich has just been laid by Mayor Corinne Mauch and building construction manager André Odermatt. The reconstruction and in some cases very complex repair and restoration work for the Tonhalle and the Kongresshaus are already in full swing. The consortium of Boesch Architekten, Zurich and Diener und Diener Architekten, Basel is in charge of the project. iart together with bivgrafik gmbH is responsible for signalling.
The digital measures developed by iart partly refer to the historical interior design of the building. Existing elements are digitally extended and thus are surprisingly reinterpreted. These new measures are currently being tested and optimised in test setups at iart's premises. The opening of the Congress Hall and the Tonhalle is planned for 2020.
