Together with the architects Promontorio and Merge Architects, iart is developing a media facade for the new Harvard Square Theatre. The building is located in the city centre of Cambridge, USA, in an environment that is of importance to the general public. Our team crossed the ocean to test the concept and present it to the Cambridge Historical Commission. The facade installation made of white terracotta bricks with embedded LEDs is intended to create subtle and pleasant visual effects that are also visible during the day and harmoniously integrate into the urban landscape of Boston. The next meeting of the Historical Commission will decide how to proceed with the project.
