Residency Open Call: SPATIAL AFFAIRS
The project “SPATIAL AFFAIRS. Extended Reality Experiences” invites artists or choreographers for a residency at three cultural institutions to develop prototypes for performances in physical space that interweaves body, space, and technology to foster collective lived experiences.
iart is supporting the project as a technology partner. Selected artists will be given access to our extended reality platform AIRE, with which hybrid experiences can be realised in real time. They will also be supported by our XR team, which specialises in Unity, location tracking and real-time multi-user game design.
“SPATIAL AFFAIRS” is a joint project between the cultural institutions HEK (House of Electronic Arts) in Basel, Switzerland, MAP - Museum of Art & Photography in Bangalore, India, and Tabakalera International Center for Contemporary Culture in San Sebastián, Spain. Other technology and research partners alongside iart are metaLAB (at) Basel, Switzerland, and the TEKNIKER technology research centre in Eibar in the Basque Country, Spain.
The project is supported by Pro Helvetia.
