In the city centre of Cambridge, USA, a new building is to be erected on the site of the closed Harvard Square Theater. On five floors it will house office space, shops and a cinema. But developers are also looking to bring life to the exterior of the building. Together with the architects Promontorio and Merge Architects, iart will develop a media facade made of white terracotta tiles, in which LEDs are embedded. It will allow the building to subtly display images and thus will open up new possibilities for community engagement. The project was presented to the public in June 2018 and is currently in the approval phase. The client is the firm Kirche LLC.
