Radiant Lines - Light Installation in Melbourne Unveiled

Our first project in Australia has opened: a month long installation by British architect Asif Khan in the middle of Melbourne's main civic square, Federation Square, which was unveiled at the 'Light in Winter' Festival, Melbourne. iart has contributed the system engineering, electrical engineering (LED lights) and control system.

The installation, named 'Radiant Lines', explores line, rhythm, velocity and volume. Forty rings of raw aluminium will be superimposed in space creating a visually dynamic layering effect, and animating the public space around it.

'Radiant Lines' becomes illuminated at dusk, with displays of light triggered by individual visitors as they cross concentric thresholds around the square.

The Light in Winter Festival takes place until 22 June 2014.
