We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Technical Junior Researcher specializing in holographic technologies. The project-bound position is 60100% and available immediately (until end January 2024 with option to extend). The ideal candidate should be able to travel to Basel and other destinations for onsite meetings, the daily work can also be done remotely.

As a studio for media architectures, we enhance physical spaces with digital technology – and thus enable novel experiences. Our exhibitions are acclaimed as immersive environments, our visitor centers bring brand IDs to experiential levels and our media facades inject quiet dynamism into urban space. We continually seek the new and bring visions to life.

Responsibilities

  • collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers and architects to gather and understand interdisciplinary requirements
  • define functionalities and features of holographic technologies based on different usage scenarios
  • develop evaluation frameworks and criterias to ensure objective and consistent assessments of holographic technologies
  • develop principles and guidelines for incorporating holographic technologies in a future-proof manner
  • identify emerging holographic technologies and evaluating their potencial applications
  • report and present the entire research process, incl. methodologies and recommendations
  • contribute to the creation of the technical documentation

Requested Profile

  • familiar with holographic technologies, including hardware, software, and associated principles
  • knowledge of display technologies (VR/AR/MR), including hardware, software and associated principles
  • experience with working in research (data collection, evaluation, analysis, conclusion)
  • excellent documentation and technical writing skills (references welcome)
  • strong understanding of interdisciplinary requirements in an architectural context and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • MA or BA degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., media research, computer science, engineering)
  • language skills: English (C1 Level), German (optional)
